Mining Law and the system of registry, transfer and acquisition of mining rights in Brazil are complex and highly-formal. Our experience enables us to advise foreign clients on their objectives in Brazil, guiding them through the dense applicable legislation.
 
Several of our attorneys in the mining department have held posts in the legal and other departments of mining companies, particularly the partner responsible for the department. This day-to-day contact provides the commercial viewpoint necessary for achieving positive results plus a wide vision of the market.

Our practice is focused mainly on mergers and acquisitions and financing from mining companies and projects. This activity also includes setting up mining companies, obtaining permits and authorizations from the National Department of Mineral Production, due diligence processes and the acquisition of mining rights (including pre-acquisition investigations and negotiation of the pertinent contracts), specific tax planning for mining companies, consultancy and administrative processes involving mining rights.
