Professional Experience
In the Oil & Gas area Roberta Souza has advised Canadians, Americans, English and Norwegian and Oil & Gas companies conducting preliminary regulatory analysis, structuring, negotiating and entering into joint ventures and acquiring assets in Brazil, in addition to advising Oil & Gas companies taking part in the annual bid rounds sponsored by ANP (the Brazilian Petroleum Agency).
Roberta Souza has assisted Petrobras in the development of the Barracuda & Caratinga Project, which involves the construction, start-up, ownership and operation for deep-sea production facilities for the Barracuda-Caratinga Fields. This project involved a US$3.2 billion financing and it was considered one of the biggest project finances in the world for the past few years.
Among other Oil & Gas operations Roberta Souza advised one of the largest oil companies in Canada to farm-out in one of the major oil field in Campos Basin, operation which amounted US$368 million, and also in the farm-out of certain offshore areas to an Indian group.
Yet in Oil & Gas operations Roberta Souza has advised the largest oil company in Norway in the acquisition of Anadarko Petróleo Ltda’s quotas, as well as in the farm-in of two onshore blocks in the Campos Basin - Chinook and BM-C-47.
Roberta has also advised Estaleiro Atlântico Sul S.A. in the construction of the lower hull of P-55 for Petrobras to be used in Roncador Field (still ongoing).
