Vitor Jorge focuses his practice on Antitrust / Competition Law. His experience involves: general advice and risk assessment in relation to contracts, business practices, mergers and other forms of economic concentration subject to notification to the Brazilian competition authorities; drafting notification forms of concentration acts; clients’ representation in administrative proceedings related to anticompetitive practices (including cartel practices); clients’ representation in litigation cases involving Competition Law; and preparation of compliance programs.
From August, 2007 to May, 2010 Vitor Jorge was technical advisor and Coordinator-Substitute of the General Coordination for Economic Defense at the Secretariat of Economic Monitoring (one of the three competition authorities in Brazil) linked to the Ministry of Finance. During this period, Vitor carried out investigations of anticompetitive practices (including cartel practices), participated in search and seizure operations related to antitrust investigations, analyzed and reviewed administrative proceedings related to antitrust investigations and drafted technical opinions on the matter, and represented the Brazilian government in seminars and events involving aspects related to competition enforcement in Brazil.
